Lawmaker vows to empower youths

A member representing Oron Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Linus Umoh has vowed to continue with the empowerment of youths in Nigeria to ensure their good standard of living.

Hon. Umoh who is from Ape Amamong, Okobo in Akwa Ibom State made the statement recently while concluding arrangement for the sponsorship of eleven (11) students into the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, Delta State.

The law-maker who was the first executive chairman of Okobo local government council and one-time speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly stated categorically that the youths are leaders of tomorrow and as a result, they need to be properly catered for especially through learning and development.

The astute politician also told newsmen that he has sponsored sixty-two (62) students into the Maritime Academy, Oron in view of the strategic nature of the maritime industry to the Nigeria’s economy.

Umoh who was the former Akwa Ibom State Party Chairman of the defunct NCPN and also former member representing Oron Federal Constituency in the Constituent Assembly used the opportunity to call on other law makers and well meaning Nigerians to assist with the development of youths in order to put in oblivion, the issue of youths restiveness and aggressiveness because an idle brain is the devil’s workshop.
