Urhobo community In Bomadi gets new executive

The Urhobo Community in Bomadi local government area has inaugurated an executive body to run their affairs after fifteen years of a lull.

The newly elected president, Mr. Sunday Ekohri, said it has become necessary for the Urhobos to conduct an election to select an executive that will pilot the affairs of the union after fifteen years. Sunday Ekohri maintained that time has come for the Urhobos in Bomadi to take active stage in projecting their interest.

He expressed hope and determination that his administration would inject positive changes into the union. Ekohri who attributed his emergence as the president of the Urhobo community in Bomadi to God’s intervention, added that with the constitution of the new executive, it has strategically positioned the body to effectively deal with issues affecting the Urhobos in Bomadi.

The president disclosed that the union which is the rallying point of all Urhobos in Bomadi is charged with the responsibility through dialogue to harmonize and reinvigorate the strength of solidarity among its members. He promised the Urhobo community that he would raise the union to an enviable height and make their presence felt in other spheres of life. He enjoined all Urhobos to always maintain the peace and good neighbourliness in their interpersonal relationships with their landlords and people around them. Ekohri described the Urhobos as industrious and peace loving people who always seek peaceful co-existence.
