Warri South legislative leader backs Uduaghan for second term

By: Tonebsky Nesta

The Leader of Warri South legislative Arm, Hon. Sunday Aguweye has lend his voice to calls by prominent Delta Politicians calling on incumbent Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan to rerun for the state gubernatorial seat come 2011.

The lawmaker, who spoke to Fresh Angle in an exclusive chat in Warri, is an indigene of Okere Urhobo kingdom, Warri and he is representing Otor-Orere ward in the Warri South legislative Arm.

Hon Aguweye told Fresh Angle that he is leading his numerous followers to back Governor Uduaghan’s return bid. He described the governor’s 3 cardinal objectives of Peace and Security, human capital and infrastructural development as not just well thought out, but carefully and strategically implemented to the overall benefit of all Deltans no matter the primordial differences.

According to him, the manner with which the Governor has continually sustained the intra and inter ethnic harmony in the state in spite of obvious challenges is reflective of a political strategist that understands the dynamics as well as complexities of Deltans. The lawmaker posited that the governor’s multiple health programmes targeted at both children, women and the aged as well as his agricultural and technical base programmes aimed at youth development makes him the number one choice for all Deltans as far as 2011 gubernatorial poll in Delta State is concerned.

Hon. Aguweye was particularly delighted at the proficiency of grassroots governance across the state, this according to him is based on the well laid out structure put in place by Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan as well as the responsive and responsible governance Dr. Uduaghan has always canvassed right from his days as Hon. Commissioner for Health. He challenged the few critics of the Governor to go round the state and see visible infrastructural as well as beautification projects scattered all over.

He was quick to mention the multi billion Asaba International Airport, Koko- Ugbenu dualisation project, proposed establishment of four new polytechnics to compliment existing ones as well as the revitalization of the hitherto comatose Warri Port as reasons why Dr. Uduaghan should enjoy overwhelming support of Deltans in 2011 gubernatorial elections.
