Omutsi descendants disown purported inauguration of Obodo Community Task Force

By Tonebsky Nesta

Descendants of Prince Omutsi alleged founder of Obodo Community in Warri South local government area of Delta State have disowned a group which goes by the name “Obodo Community Development and Employment Committee”, describing them as strange persons laying claim to Obodo community.

In a Press Release signed by the Head of Prince Omutsi descendants, Pa. Samson Amadamedon and Pa. Daniel Etsemi, they called on all indigenes, individuals and corporate bodies doing business in the community to disregard what they described as a provocative publication in a community tabloid (not Fresh Angle) over a purported inauguration of a Task Force by Obodo Community Development and Employment Committee. According to them, the issue of founder/representative of Obodo Community is a subject of litigation in suit no. W/247/2007 Mr. Jalanami & Ors V. Mr. Benson Edema & Ors.

While accusing the Obodo Community Development and Employment Committee of planning to destabilize
and cause mayhem in their community, the Omutsi family warned that any money meant for the community that is paid to the purported representatives will be an exercise in futility.

The Obodo Community Development and Employment committee, OCD&EC, recently inaugurated a new Task Force Chaired by one Christopher Omagbemi.
