The Co-ordinator, Church of God Mission International Inc, Lagos, Rev. Benson German has prophesied that if ex militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo does not stop the worship of idols and serve God, he may not last.

The clergy man who is an ambassador of Ijaw to Lagos state, said Mr. Government Ekpemupolo’s act was an indication that he was on an assignment by the Almighty God. According to him, even without academic and political background, the ex militant leader has been able to draw the attention of the International community to the plight of Niger Delta people, particularly the Ijaw nation.

In his words, “the way Tompolo is going about idolatry, I doubt he may not last”.

The Lagos based preacher who was a guest speaker at the 14th Anniversary celebration of the Ijaw Day of Prayer and Praise/Thanksgiving with the theme “Above Limitation”, organized by the Ijaw Christian forum, Warri, said for the Ijaw people to be above limitations, their memory must replace their past.

Rev. Benson who drew his text from Psalm 138:2, Numbers 13 among other scriptures, said the Ijaw man have reached the level of no limitation as nobody can delete the name of an Ijaw man in the scheme of things in Nigeria. He added that God does not call the qualified but he calls the unqualified and make them qualified for his works, just as he declared that the “Ijaw man will over take this 2011”.

Rev. Benson German advised Ijaw leaders to invest in the education of their children, if they must take over.

Earlier in an address, the Co-ordinator of the Ijaw Christian Forum, Rev. (Dr.) Godwin Soraye (JP) called on youths to rise up and pursue a noble course, noting that the present era is that of pen and brain.

Soraye who stated that the Ijaw nation has all it takes to acquire and aspire to be the best, called on the Ijaw people to lay down their “arms, instruments of mediocrity, violence and destruction” and give Dr. Goodluck Jonathan a chance to deliver his promises to Nigeria. He advised all eligible voters to register and vote enmass in the forth coming voters’ registration exercise.

For his part, the Grand Patron of the Ijaw Christian Forum, Rev. (Dr.) I.C. Tola charged the Ijaw nation to partner with God Almighty as it is only then that they can fully utilize their resources as well as God given talents.

Rev. (Dr.) I.C. Tola, who disclosed that all ministers who have contributed to the Ijaw Christian Forum since its inception will be given prices next year, prayed that God should touch all Ijaw political leaders in order for them to serve God.

High points of the events were a special thanksgiving service by the Ijaw Christian Forum and the unveiling of a sticker titled: I am above limitation by Rev. (Dr.) Godwin Soraye (JP).
