Countdown to NUJ Polls: I enjoy the goodwill of Journalists in Delta State – Chiazo • Promises mouth watering media award

Seasoned journalist for over two decades and strong contender for the chairmanship position of Delta State Council of Nigeria union of Journalists, NUJ, Comrade Chiazor Norbert Kpomiose says he enjoys the good will of majority of Journalists in Delta State as the build up to the March 2 State election gets more intense.

The Chairmanship hopeful who is in the process of a PHD education in Mass Communication after acquiring two degrees in English and Mass Communication as well as Masters Degree in Mass Communication from the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka drop this hint in an exclusive chat with Fresh Angle in Warri.

While noting that his vision for Delta NUJ is defined in the three precepts of power, pedigree and possibilities, Comrade Chiazor said he envision a leadership where cherished values of professionalism, ethnical standards, occupational dignity, welfare, self fulfillment and collective social relevance will take pre-eminence if given the mandate.

He promised to partner with all stakeholders “to build a landmark press centre in Delta State”, just as he vowed that his leadership “will initiate comprehensive training opportunities for journalists through high profile seminars, conferences, workshops and post graduate training”.

The widely traveled journalists, whose career spans through electronic, print and online/cyber journalism within Nigeria as well as contributions in several international media, pledged to make ‘the Delta NUJ Award of media excellence comes with a glamorous prize, a plaque, certificate and huge sum of money”.

On the much talked about freedom of Information bill as well as welfare of journalist, Comrade Chiazor averred “my desire is to work in conjunction with the National leadership of the NUJ under our charismatic National President, Comrade Garba Mohammed to promote the highest standards of professionalism and benefits for journalists through sustained advocate and constructive engagements”.
