It is no longer news that mystery crude oil was discovered at Willie Street, Okumagba layout in the heart of Warri, Delta State recently, but what still remains untold was how the substance suddenly found itself in a dry land.
Fresh Angle investigation reveals that contrary to wide reports, the crude oil was allegedly deposited at the spot by truck at about 5am following a hot chase by security operatives. An eye witness who pleaded anonymity told Fresh Angle that he saw the truck reversing from the area after depositing the substance to avoid arrest from security operatives believing to be acting on a tip off.
Meanwhile Chairman of Warri South local government in Delta State, Hon. Mofe Edema who visited the site promised to mobilize oil expert to take sample of the substance to ascertain its authenticity. Anglo Dutch oil giant, Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC, has already sent some of its staff to take sample of the substance for test.
Our Correspondent reports that hordes of people were seen scooping the substance from the spot, even as the relevant government agencies were said to have visited the spot to have first hand assessment of the situation.
