An Educationist and one time chairman of Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT in Warri South local government, Delta State, Comrade F.N. Olise says he can’t send his children to government owned schools.

He made the declaration at the College of Commerce Old Students Association (Jnr) end of year get together held in Warri recently.

The former NUT boss lamented the infrastructural decay in the public schools, stressing that the present situation cannot encourage anyone to send his/her children so as not to expose them to avoidable danger.

Mr. Olise who taught most of the students at College of Commerce, said the present situation of the school like its counterpart is not conducive for academic learning.

He decried a situation where students and teachers go for weekend and return on Monday to find hoodlums defecating on the classrooms, noting that even principal and staff offices are not left out.

He appealed to the Igbudu community in Warri South local government and the old students of the institution to arrest the situation.

Earlier in his remark, the Chairman of College of Commerce Old Students Association, COCOSA (Jnr) Mr. O.O. Charles said that the major aim of the body is to explore possibilities of assisting their almamater.

He appealed to all COCOSA members to continually support the vision of the association financially and physically.

Our Correspondent reports that an Igbudu community leader in response to earlier appeal donated bags of cements for rehabilitation of the school broken fence. He also promised to address the challenge of the school as well as improve on the areas of partnering with COCOSA for all round development of the school.
